Donating Materials

The Centro archives accepts documents of any size and type. Materials need not be old or relate to someone famous. Our repository is devoted to community history and mostly documents the lives of ordinary people and community organizations. Once you donate your papers, they become our responsibility. It is our job to protect them as best we can by providing environmentally controlled, secure storage, ensuring proper handling and reformatting materials for preservation.

Increasingly, the Centro's Library and Archives has become a place where genealogists find important sources to fill gaps in their family histories. Many individuals in search of relatives have been successful in locating treasured and unsuspected pieces of information including sometimes the only extant photograph of a beloved family member. A series of records that are part of a large collection of migration documents which the Centro holds, allows us to provide this service.
