Pre-Requisite Skills

The following skills need to be in place in order for students to be successful on this project:

TI-83 Graphing Calculator and CBL Laboratory Interface:

• Students should have some experience graphing data sets using the TI-83 graphing calculators, storing data sets in lists.
• Students should be able to capture screens from the TI-83 and paste them into documents using Graph Link software and hardware

Math

• Students should have a basic understanding of algebra and solving for an unknown in an equation.
• Students should have a working understanding of averages and know how to find the mean of a data set.

Computers

• Students should be comfortable in an icon-based environment and be able to locate and open files.
• Students should be comfortable using a browser and search engine to locate info on the Net.
• Students should be able to cut information from one document and paste into another.
• Students should be able to graph data from a spreadsheet and change types of graphs.
