Bronx river project

Do now: There are factories-Frito Lays, Coca-Cola, a newspaper plant-to name a few-, along the Bronx river. The factories are located in the Hunts Point and Sound view section of the Bronx. They dump their liquid waste into the river; this waste has ammonia, sulfur, nitrates, oxides, and other compounds in it.

  1. What do you think this liquid waste does to the river? Elaborate/explain your answer!

The liquid waste that’s poured into the river will eventually pollute the water so much, it will get to a point were the soil around it would be useless. Also, it will poison the river, it makes it dangerous to live in.

  2. What do you think it does to the animal and plant life in the river?

All the pollution in the river would kill any animals around the area. It’s a possibility that it could mutate them. The plant life around the area would die out from the pollutants in the river that came from the factories.

  3. How might it affect the people that live near the river?

The people that live around the river would smell a foul scent around the river. It might be possible to make them sick
