Description of this NETsWork Project

My project for NETsWork was to design a Web site to be hosted by the schools intranet that students could use to keep up with school lessons while they were on travel or out of school for a variety of reasons. Through this program I was able to put together a web site which contained the following useful information:

• Chemistry Content standards for the District of Columbia
• Class home work and due dates
• Class project assignments and rubrics
• Class examination dates

In addition, the site also served as a resource tool and the following information was included:

• PowerPoint presentation on the periodic table
• A link to an interactive periodic table
• As well as links to various online tutorials

The project was only the beginning once I gained enough experience to create my own web page as well as web based assessments I was able to conduct a professional development session on creating web pages as well as assist many other teachers with their own web set ups.

In conclusion, the NETsWork project was very helpful and can be used in a variety of ways from providing a forum for distance learning as well as creating three dimensional physical objects.
