(You may want to print this page)
The following steps are suggested:
1. Identify the immigration professional
that you wish to interview. You can consult your school librarian, local
library, the Internet or even the local Telephone Directory to find a Community-Based
Organization. Make sure you have background information on the organization.
2. Generate your list of questions:
-
Define what you want out of the interview
(stories, facts, opininions, etc.). Think about how this information will
fit into the project. You should have a basic knowledge of your topic.
-
Make sure the questions address the who,
what, when, where and why of the topic.
-
Questions should be specific and follow
a logical order. Questions should be clear, open-ended and include follow-up
questions.
3. Discuss the questions with your team
members and finalize the list.
4. Arrange and conduct the interview.
5. After the interview reflect on the
interview and assess the product. Write the narrative version of the interview.
